OK. I want sum expert advice from you guys what knows a lot more than me.

I wanna get sum chaps so I can have fun cut wood be safe long time. I see ther are a number of brands to choose from. I wood tend to lean toward Stihl products, but I am also tapped out from this CAD thing. I wear pants size 34/30 (34 waist), and I see many that are much larger than that.

Recommendations? thank you thank you:blob2:  :biggrinbounce2: :chainsawguy:

While I would put my trust in Stihl for such, aside from that I would stick to at least a good name brand. Too much Chinese crap out there that is not worth trusting a limb for (literally). If the Chinese cannot keep lead out of kids toys, no way am I trusting my legs to them.

PS I have two pieces of duct tape on my Stihl coverall (like chaps), and am thankful for that much.

I wear Labonville full wrap. Well put together and good fit. I see your in Kansas so before long your going to have the same problem I've been having since it's got warm here the last couple of weeks. SWEATY LEGS! But it's better to have some legs there to sweat, than to have them all torn up. Good luck. Ray:biggrinbounce2: :biggrinbounce2: :givebeer:

chaps

I'll tell you a story bout' them chaps. My buddy told me this story...he used to never wear chaps....now he does. He was out cutting timber one day and something that morning told him to wear chaps....normally he doesn't. He put them on while the skidder was running and went out and started cutting. It was close to his last tree for the day. He was trimming the top of a sugar maple and he gunned his husky 394xp to cut a limb....when he stepped up, another limb came from the side and slammed the 394 WFO down onto his thigh. He collapsed when the saw hit his leg, and he never looked at his leg. He just layed there......thinking, "My leg is cut off and nobody will find me". He was cutting down in a hollow a 1/4 of a mile into the woods. No road around, no houses, no cell phone. Just the logging road which is all uphill. After 5 minutes of laying there, thinking "My leg is cutoff, and I just can't feel it yet". He finally looked down, and there the saw was.........ideling........tangled in the chaps....and no blood. He shutoff the saw......took off the chaps.....it didn't even nick him....didn't even cut the bluejeans he was wearing. He was astonished. He drove out of the woods with the skidder (franklin 170). He parked it at the landing and went home.......he figured that was enough for one day. The next day he walked into the saw shop and told the guy that works the counter, "I need a pair of those pansy pants".lol:laugh: :chainsawguy: :biggrinbounce2: :hmm3grin2orange:

I ordered a pair from baileys last week, the cheapest ones they had. i put them on and the plastic clip broke when it snapped in.:chainsawguy: so im thinking ill go with a different brand.

Great story stihl440, I need to read that kind of thing every so often to remember that the 5 extra min. that it takes to go put on the chaps (Labonville +1) is well worth it. We've all got to keep in mind that mistakes happen even to seasoned vets and a little extra sweat and that funny 'chap walk' is better than the hospital. Besides I think I look damn sexy in em.... :biggrinbounce2:

prolly had to wash his under shorts twice too

I have Stihl pro. they're not the calf wraps that i prefer but im not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth-christmas present from mom and dad.

I ordered the labonville full wrap green ones.

I had them on my doorstep the NEXT day.

They are the ones they show on their video that did not cut through at full rpm's.

I wear them every time I run my saw, they fit great, just go by the sizing info they have when you order them and you can't go wrong. For around $75 it is very cheap, high quality insurance.

I cut wood alone most times and after hanging around here decided it couldnt hurt to wear chaps. Ordered mine from Labonville after watching the video on their site.

They help keep your pants clean too!!!! No more kneeling in the dirt!!
