There were some EPA versions in 97,98 and 2003 that I have ran across, but they have the bigger combustion chambers. the real performers are:

PSSST, any partner 5000, 5000+, 5500, Jonsered 490 and 590 will bolt onto the chassis, erh uhm so I have been told......:)

Mine is a 1997...

And it is open right?

EPA which is backwards thinking....probably cali and other emissions stringient states....only seen a very few handful in ohio that were closed. They are rare in our neck of the woods

Don't tell me we agree. You need to get that plane ticket up here from san diego for that weekend Im sure someone can pick you up at the airport.

I would love to. Would love to meet everyone, would love to run some saws (haven;t got to in a while) and would love to get off work. We are working 7 days out here....

When is it? how long of a flight? Damn, I wanna go.....I'm gonna have to go cry to the boss tomorrow.......lol

I never looked, I assumed all the 55's had open ports. I will have to take a look

Its the first weekend in May both days 3rd and 4th. I think I remember you saying something about working in san diego and thought you might get up here.

100:1 says it is open, but if it runs real close to your broken in 5100....there is a chance.

Regardless you need to open it up and work it over.......

Call it what you like but I know what I will grab everytime. I must say that a 5100, from what others have said are bad arse saws. Freak mentioned sending one down to our GTG so I might get to run one. I have a 026 stocker and semi stocker here to test out. So far the ss has been a ripper, needs a few more tanks though. I just know I can grab either one and cut all day, that is what matters the most to me. To each his own.

I think we have a Dolmat dealer here in town.......I may have to check one out. Is it considered miscegenation to own mre than one brand of saw?:greenchainsaw:

I did and I apologize for not getting it in the mail. I am gone for a couple months and won't be back home in time to ship it out. I was super busy trying to button up everything before I left and have lots of deals on hold until I get back. Moving everything to storage is taking longer than first expected....

NIce

Yes, as light as the 260, and a better limbing saw.......

Not to mention the older husky's had a MUCH better power band than the newer stuff. Their torque was about double what the newer husky's are. That's why my 2 husky's are older ones. They weren't built, or lasted like the old stihls, but they were definitely a much torqueyer saw... ( I don't think that's a real word, hehehehe)

 eh?

It will be interesting at the PNW get together all the 45 to 50 cc saws will be represented.

If I can make it, I'll be bringing a bunch of them, but all but one are woods ported or muffler modded:

Craftsman/Solo 651 Greffardized (if Andy got it running) low hours, but was always the slowest of my modded 3 cube saws)
Dolmar 5100S ehp piped or muffler mod
old model 346 ehp
5100S muffler ported by lakeside 999
Shindaiwa 488 Greffardized.....getting tired-has some cylinder/piston markings appearing (don't look as bad as it did when I sent it to Dennis- (ebay used saw) He didn't wait for the new jug I ordered tocome. He cleaned up the wear marks...but I always figured he shouldn't have done it.

Sachs Dolmar 115, bone stock, off ebay.....Andy got it running (carb repair)
We could play with it at the GTG, then drill some holes in the muffler on the spot and compare....

Yes to me also the NE346 is not a killer also. With the cat that is for sure. Not saying the 5100 is a bad saw. I like them. Just not my favorite 50cc saw

Booker, what is your favorite 50cc saw, the 346NE I presume? Solo?

Ooops. I missed your post of the modded OE 346. Sorry guys.
