problem solved
Been awhile, but thought I would post the findings. With it raining all week I finally got around to looking at the saw. After disassembling the saw I found a small hole in the impulse hose. Replaced and seems to start fine now (<5 pulls).
I’m not much of a poster and don’t visit forums often, but I took some time and explored around here last week (nothing else to do with all the rain). I would like to applaud the professionals that frequent here and seem ready to jump in and help out the DIY with repairs.
I also found the articles/discussions on felling informative and interesting, thanks.
