Well I did some tinkering with the saw after I had it running a week ago. I noticed that it was running extremely rich as oil was coming out of the exhaust when running.

I was tearing down the intake to rebuild the carb. Found that the rubber intake block was loose. I assume the vibration caused that. I checked the block for cracks and it looked good. The piston looked pretty good for being almost 40 years old. I replaced all of the intake gaskets, rebuilt the carb, changed the fuel line, fuel filter, air filter, spark plug and put it back together. I did a quick tune and set the idle at about 2500rpm and set the high side to just under 10,700 rpm. It now starts on the first or second pull.
