044 recoil screw part #

Recently purchased an 044. It appears that one of the recoil bolts is wrong since the bolt head won’t fit in the counter sink. Lower right when looking at the recoil.

Does anyone have the correct part number for this?

See if the threads are the same as one of the others and length also. Then is its the same screw sand the head on a bench grinder.

For what it's worth, early 044's had M4 screws in the recoil.

Any idea on the thread pitch and diameter? Come to think of it I wasn’t going to buy a stihl part, just get a bolt that fits better.

Well its 4 or 5 mm depending these guys are saying early ones are 4 can you measure it? Does it look the same as the ones that fit?

From memory, I think the 10mm wrist pin saws can have either M4 or M5 in the recoil, M4 being in only the very early 10mm saws.... @mudfly is your saw a 10 or 12 mm?

Easiest way is to post some pics of the left hand side of the saw, include some good pics of the oil tank area.

Well the smaller stihls commonly use 4mm screws for you to compare. Like on that pullstart cover.
