Hey guys,

I have an 066 with a custom pipe and some porting done. Into the third cut I can hear the saw start to lean out. My thoughts are crank seals. Does anyone have any opinions?

If it does it on the 3rd cut it's running out of fuel. How's the tune? It's getting warm and leaning out more than likely so it needs to be a touch richer.

The best bet for you is to find a carb off a 064,unlike the 066 and 660 stihls it does not have a governer circuit in it which make high speed tuning difficult for a hot motor and the newer carbs will not allow power mods that I can do to the older carbs. The Walbro carb used on these size models is woefully small for any real power increase. I have proven mods for the un-governed 064 carbs.

Which 660 carbs have this problem? The WJ 69 has a removeable jet that can easily be bored out of swapped to the .74mm jet.
