Anybody know of a good splitter that will process 4' logs? One of my friends is interested in picking up a firewood account that requires about 400+ cords per year of 4' long firewood. I know that he can get a TW5 with a 4' stroke, but it will probably also cost him about $8,000 The account also takes a few hundred cords of regular sized firewood.

Any thoughts?

Are ther processors out there set up to cut and split 4 feet? The ones I have seen max out at 26" inches.

I don't know for certain, but some serious inquiries might get you a manufacturer who's willing to put one together for you. The investment is significant and this is one of those "customizations" that's not hard to accommodate. Best of luck!

the processor I'm making would handle 4 foot pieces if i swapped the ram out.

pretty weird that someone wants 4 foot chunks of firewood.

Now the question comes, is it feasible to engineer a processor that will split 4 footers but also be fast enough in cycle time to do regular length firewood?
