I bought this saw in late 2011 and have used it on almost every job I've done since. Decided to check the piston and ring and do alittle porting and increase the compression some.

Got it all back together. Going to run it tomorrow, after the motoseal sits, 0.20 squish after the gasket was removed. Was very surprised how clean the cylinder looked and piston.

You need to check the squish against the cylinder wall. It'll be tighter there than where your solder is in the pic. It's easiest to check by sticking through the spark plug hole. Put two pieces in there, one at 3 o'clock and one at 9.

I did exactly that way Brad. Found it a lot easier that way. That pic was my first test. Did 3 more!

Did you do anything interesting to the transfer caps?
The lack of a pic makes me think, probably nothing beyond
maybe removing any casting uglies and just smoothing them out?

I've just been looking at the various build threads, wherever I can see any.
So thus Ive ended up pestering you about them.
Looks like a looong span of metal to have to keep the shapes right
while doing any sort of alterations.
You guys who've -actually- been into them, are the ones to answer that though.

I'm sorry misread your post. The first two are before I sanded it. Just black from running and grease to hold the solder.

How about run time, not hours it's been on this planet.

I own a large Tree service. Hours are conservative if anything. The saw gets used 5 days a week. I've owned it new since 2011. It gets more use than any saw I own but my top handles. Sometimes even weekends during firewood season.
