So I still have a bunch of HUGE oak logs that I need to cut up for firewood, about 5 of them and they range in size from 40" to 50" and between 12 and 20 ft. long and are rock hard. I would like to cut these up for firewood, they are too gnarly and partly rotted to use for lumber, but I don't think my 575 quite has the nuts for a job this size. So I am looking at some other options.
Here's the specs I'd like.
Run at least a 32" bar with reasonable power
Weight, AV and cutting speed are not a huge issue, I don't plan on using this saw for anything other than cutting up huge logs.
My budget is about $600 from Uncle Sam.
I'm looking at bigger Homies and Mac's in the 90+ cc range, but they're hard to come by. An 064/066/660 would be ideal but a bit out of my price range. What do y'all think?
