First and foremost, I love burning Beech for firewood. It dries fast, and burns great... My question is this, I don't cut down healthy trees, only the older trees with advanced beech bark disease. Some of it ends up being a little punky, but for the most part, it's all burnable. Is there any problem with using this diseased wood as a fuel source? I am not storing it near any healthy beech trees, but it is stored near some scraggly old hemlocks. Just wondering if I am doing something truly awful, or not. Thanks in advance everyone.

If you are cutting and burning diseased trees on or near your property and burning them, then at least your eliminating some of the problem (disease). If on the other hand you are bringing diseased wood from another location and putting it in close proximity to healthy beech trees, then maybe you should think twice. Doesn't sound like you are.
