That's cool Evan yer whole family pitches in and helps with the firewood business...that works for me too...but our kids are 19 and 24 yrs old, and work really hard. Typically I'm on the 066 or 880 cutting bigger wood, Mrs. Bounty Hunter with her cherished 440 ported big bore cutting everything else, and quartering really big rounds. The kids haul the rounds to the splitter, and later stack the splits in the trailer.
The only thing we do different is haul the log splitter with us to the mountain...and split everything before its stacked in the big wood trailer...so we only have to move it again to unload and deliver it. This also allows the bark and scrap to be spread and stay in the forest, not at our ranch.
It's great family time, despite the hard work. Everyone feels like they did something good and important for the family, and for each other. It makes us close and builds strength and trust in the family.
Good Luck with everything you all do, and be safe out there.
