what size and what brand of bolt cutters are needed for a small tree company and where do i get a pair

i didnt like the ones at lowes

I use a hacksaw, cheaper, smaller, easier to use in the tree.

Forget Lowes, Home Depot, it is usually cheap junk. Try finding a good supplier or store that sells good tools for the electrican's trade. You will find what your looking for there, won't be cheap either compared to Lowes. I have a real good cable cutter that I have used for years and that is the only thing I use it for, cutting tree cable or big electric wires.


What you need is a cable cutter, not a bolt cutter, there is a difference.

If your gonna just use them for cutting cable I would buy the cheap ones, Tree cable is fairly soft, The pair in our cable bag is probably 5 years old. I believe they came from TSC.
