Boy am I an Idiot!

Ive had my jd 440c for 8 years now and the differential lock hasn't worked. The guy I bought it from said it was the clutch packs in the front end where shot. I was tinkering with it this weekend and all that was wrong with it was a roller bearing in the foot pedal was shot. Im glad it was a very cheap fix, but wish I would have figured it out along time ago.

I had a similar problem on my 540A when I got it. All it cost to fix was two cents. Turned out it was just a 1/8" dia. o-ring that was leaking oil on the foot lever bypass valve for the diff lock.
