Yes, I think the "s" disappeared about in 1980, shortly after E-lux entered the picture.

The first Jonsereds saw appeared in 1954, and was the XA.
It was one of the few chainsaws designed to run on Diesel fuel, and a development of the Norwegian designed "Comet".

Here i more info on the story of the Diesel Chain Saws

Everyone is usually one word. In the tense used, spelled is the appropriate conjugation. Spelt is past tense: Before 1980, Jonsered was spelt Jonsereds.

Goat Farmer, welcome to the site. Don't worry about us teacher wannabes, we're just having some fun.

Edit: I forgot to mention Chain Saw Collectors Corner, http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf?OpenDatabase

That was not a spelling issue, but a deliberate change in the company name.
Don't ask me why, but the timing indicates that it was a result of the E-lux takeover of Jonsereds.
