Could someone explain Stihl's pricing & saws?

I would tend to agree with you about staying away from the nicknamed saws such as the Fram Boss and Wild Thing. I do however believe there were a few exceptions. The Stihl 038 and 041 were both sold as the "Farm Boss". I really think it would be rare to have someone call the 038 a POS. As for the 041 they may have been heavy but there are a ton of them still running. I also believe the 028 was sold as a "Wood Boss" once again it was not POS.

Just my random thoughts open for arguement

<p>And let's not forget the 024 and the 034 were sold as the "Wood Boss" for a while, and those were good, reliable saws for a long time. Thinning crews are still running the 034 today here with bow bars.<p/>

Is a 024 woodboss worth picking up? A local landscaper has one for cheap.
