We must all own modded saws I want some company in jail lmfao. Get real stihl, if you stood up to the epa and built saws that were loud and cut fast we would not mod them:rant:

So thats why ya had to get that 372 modded , to make it cut, I knew there had to be a reason, thanks Rope,LOLOL

Well for what it is worth there is not a saw company this world that you could call and get them to say sure its ok to modify your saw over the phone, not one and they have good reasons why they won't..

Thall if money were no option all my saws would be modded. I want performance in a light package, all I can get, I am no weekend warrior like most of your customers. I make my living using saws. If you did you would understand that any improvement means time saved, energy conserved and that is my reasoning on modded worksaws. Btw I would not waste my time modding a stihl.

Uhhhhhh Rope I deal with tree outfits that have many crews and many trucks and they all run stock saws, how do they do it , tell me Rope how do those guys manage to stay in business without a modded saw,how do they manage to have several crews and trucks but no modded saws, tell me please,LOL

I can't speak for them Tom, many are ok with a ford pinto and some need a Shelby cobra. I find the in between, my modded saws are just as reliable cut faster get more work done in a given amount of time and are ready to do it over and over again. My huskies anywho!

Sometimes the added power can even make a task safer. For instance your topping a leaner out of the bucket that is going to be removed but the top is 40 foot taller than the bucket. In this case barber chair can become deadly but the direction is known it will fall with the lean but rope may be placed just for back-up. In this type of cut you want a fast cutting saw so it separates holding wood pretty fast as the jump cut is made.
A little hingewood good too much=chair and the posibility of things getting very dangerous, very fast.

Fact is Rope a fool and his money will soon part. There is no real need for a modded saw to do any tree work.

Btw your Husky sales are down 1% in the USA for the 1st half of the year, man thats pitifull because they are comparing to last years numbers which were horrible, seems your dogs better learn to swim because they are sinking bigtime in the USA, better buy some new saws Rope, Husky needs sales, hahaha, didn't think I was going to keep ignoring your dings forever did you,LOLOL

You know Tom they made them too good. I will likely retire on the huskies I have they are that good. I however believe they will be around for many more years to come. Your right about modding not absolutely needed to do tree work as; I have done it with xl's in the day. I however; do it twice as fast now, as then; more production= more money.

Looks to me like they were up 5% overall. Leave it to you to pick the only negative number in the entire report to try to prove that Husqvarna is in trouble. Looks to be quite the opposite based on that report.

If stihl made saws that run like Dolmars then most would never need modding.:poke: I can honestly say I've never run an impressive stihl that was stock. The only 3 saws that really impressed me in stock form was a 7900, 394xp, and a P62 pioneer.

Stihl is talking out of both sides of their mouth.

They don't care if you modd your saw or not.

Due to mods, and all the attention they have got, I bet sales are at least 2% higher due to those that have bought saws for this purpose. How many millions of dollars is this?

All Stihl is trying to do is cover their azz.

In fact I bet they have won more litigation if modification can be proved.
"Mod on", is what Stihl is saying, just read between the lines.

If Stihl was against saw mods they wouldn't be hosting Timber Sports.

Why arent there any husky dealers on here bashing stihl only the other way around? Go stihl...not

Howdy,
Well it looks like you have to subscribe to get your koolaid electronically. If your not thirst'n for more, just un-subscribe.
Like with any high quality propaganda, you have add in a little truth to make the continuity between facts, and fiction. Just like koolaid is a little dry and tart without the sugar, and water. If they're trying to make a statement they shouldn't use words like "often result". If they're such experts, and it's such a big problem, give us a number with a percent sign after it. "can be" Is it, or isn't it? "can result" Does it, or doesn't? You can see where this is heading.
I think the only thing I agree with is the spark arrestor. Anyways, I'm a disappointed that a company with the resources available that Stihl has, should be able to come up with something a little less transparent.
As far as spy's go, I sure all the players have someone looking at AS. None of them have the balls to show their faces. I had hopes with the Dolmar Rep.. I really thought they were going to step up to the plate. Heaven help us that anybody at the corporate level gets asked an uncomfortable question in public. Gauntlet Anyone?

Gregg
