Hello

new here, got my first restoration project a Dolmar 309 not strictly a chainsaw i know but it was cheap and local for my first project.

can anyone help me remove the flywheel please? i have read the other threads on here and got a metal plate with three bolts into the flywheel and attached a leg puller but no matter how tight i do the puller and how hard i hit itthe flywheel wont come off. i need to replace the bearings as they have had it.
any advice would be much appreciated

thank you

Thanks for reply here are some pics of the old saw

Plate is resting on copper coin on end of shaft. See puller attached to plate. Plate is 3mm steel prob gonna double it up as it's bending a bit.

Thanks I did try heat i will try again but my torch isn't great, but I remembered I have another to try.
Have I missed the obvious is there a flywheel key? I read somewhere it was cast into the flywheel. My smallest punch can't fit in the hole

Get as much pressure on the puller as you feel comfortable with and then apply heat, the aluminum flywheel will transfer heat thought its diameter quickly, I have had to do more than one cycle of torque up the puller, apply heat and then wack the outer end of the puller bolt, re torque and apply heat again.
I can only remember them using woodruff keys like other chainsaw engines do, don`t remember ever seeing a cast in key.
