Hi all, Looking for some info reguarding these 2 saws. Wanting to know if a 680 P/C will fit on a 670 bottom end without any modifications? Any advise from the Echo aficianados would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, David...............

Yes the 680 P&C will fit the 670.

The differences are the 680 piston uses one ring pinned in the middle of the piston on the intake side. The 670 piston uses two rings with the pins on the sides between the transfers and the intake. Make sure your not working with a 6700 because they use a different intake.

You should be able to make a good runner with a little piston and port work.

Sad story, really bad power to weight ratio....:msp_sad:

The power specs is up by .1 kW with the 680 vs. the 670 though - but it only is about 3.3 kW vs. 3.2 (4.5 hp vs. 4.4).

if your cuttin hardwood and runnin a 24in bar, i would really suggest semi-skip chain for these saws. helps to keep chain speed up in the cut
