Ran my CS510 against my brothers 026, my 510 cut a little faster but nothing to write home about. You'ld like the torque the 510 has. Steve
Anyone taking issue over a second in the cut between two saws is merely doing so out of brand loyalty and nothing more. If it means that much to justify the saw of your chosing I suggest a axe and then come back and try again with the saws, that second won't matter much then. I use the old slower 026 and I got the two screamers in question and I'll continue to use it for years to come. The screamers are faster but are they better just because of that, not in this cats book. If its all about high speed cookie cutting as the prime indicator of performance, where longivity and reliablity doesn't matter, the woods sure have nothing to fear out of those that worry about that second in the cut,LOL
So how does the CS-520 stack up to the MS260.
They sell the 80cc CS8000 here, I have one, its the only Echo I'm not impressed with. Steve
Well heck than change your avatar.
out of curiosity, whats the prob with the 8000?
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I have noticed that whenever Echo saws are mentioned in a thread, they draw an inordinate amount of attention. There must be a lot of interest in Echo.
no pros use echo.
echo is not a pro saw.
I'm not calling it junk, not even trying to imply it's junk!!
As I stated, all I have dealt with where top handles, and these were used by tree services!!!
Keep in mind I am the first person to push a Husky 350 (non-pro saw) to 90% of the people that ask about one saw!
For the money, I don't think I would be afraid to try one, but I would like to at least handle one first!!

The CS-520 has me wondering.
but Stihl, Husky/Jred and Dolmar have nothing fear though.........................
No I have not bought the Echo
Just asking questions about it.
I'm saving up for the Jonsered 2153 as of now.
I would like to know how the echo stacks up to the Stihl Ms260
seems they would cut side by side.
For the money seems the echo would be the one to buy.
I am going to take a look at it.
My Jonsered dealer sells Echo too. so Parts should not be any problem.
