i burn through chains when i'm cuttin dead frozen wood thats been on the ground. I was cutting this past weekend in a pile of locust I had skidded up earlier this summer. I had to sharpen about every tree.
Same here.I ended up using my log splitter on the skid steer to snatch them up out of the snow to help prolong chain life. I didnt sharpen any--yet,but i did go thru all of my extra loops I keep with me,and they all need a sharpening now.
