When I was a kid, my dad cut timber for a guy that owned a sawmill and I remember the big old Mall two man saw that he used to run. I was totally fascinated with that thing and remember how hard he worked to get it started a few times. Up till '57 or '58 we cut our wood with a crosscut and then dad came home with a shiny new yellow McCulloch Mac 35, man what a step up, we made the wood fly till we had to refill the tank, then crank our brains out to get it started again. The saw, or what's left of it is hanging in a shed full of junk and hanging around here and hearing one of them run on You Tube, makes me want to get one just for old time sake. I know there are a few around still, but have no idea what I could get one for, can anyone come up with who has one for sale and how much they run. The one we had had the smaller rubber plug cover, not the long metal one.
The gear drive chain looks slow as molasses compared to the new saws, but compared to the crosscut, it sure was lightning fast.
