Handlebar wraps

Anybody know of something good for re-wrapping handlebars? The covering on my 2100cd is pretty beat up and I want to fix it up. Preferably something with a little give to it to soak up some vibration from the beast, but tough enough to not get shredded by thorns and branch hits.

Overlook the welding part, but there was some good ideas about handle wraps. Andy (Lakeside) said something about stihl having a replacement cover, but was a pita to put on.

Go redneck on it, and put tennis raquet tape on it.

I use friction tape on my old saws that came with a bare metal handle (good for maul handles as well). You can usually find it at hardware stores pretty easily. It's almost a little too sticky at first, but after a little use it works-in nicely.
