How do you remove the rear handle? Grrrr. Trying to replace the boot but can't figure out how to deal with the rubber mounts in handle. That's what's keeping me from removing the handle to gain access to the boot. Would appreciate any and all help!

Thanks. As far as I can tell there are 4 screws bolted to the front of the tank and 1 screw on each side going into rubber mount. I have these removed and can't get the handle to release at the mounts. What am I missing?

Yes the upper handle is free from the lower. Do you have to pry the mounts out? I don't want to pry too much on old magnesium. Lol. I can lift the front of the handle up about an inch
Far enough that I was able to get the old boot off. But I don't see a way of getting new boot on without removing the whole handle

I started on this saw a couple of days ago in preparation for getting the boot. I've sachet and searched on what I'm missing, even looking at super 650 posts but everything I could find the guys just say - replaced the boot. Lol

The rear AV mounts have to be pried up out of their mounts after any attaching screws have been removed. The rear handle and carb air box should lift right up . Is there any bolts/machine screws through the rear lugs on the saw frame that reach in through the AV rubbers?

Yeah I think those are the screws I already removed. One on each side. I am half afraid to pry cause they are in there.
