Sure have. MS290, wouldn't turn over. A few days with Marvel poured into the spark plug hole (the top of the piston was above the exhaust port), and turn of a wrench on the fly wheel nut and it turned over like nothing ever happened. It was a nearly new saw.

I bought an 041 that needed a piston and rings on CL. I sell a few on there as well, just a good of saw I list there as ebay or here, or local sale. I care about my reputation as far as selling saws and such.

Yes but few really good saws around here on it, but I did buy one from Portland OR awhile ago, but only cause my daughter could pick it up for me.

Had one shipped on a CL deal from Indy once, but figured I could drive there to hunt em down like a dog if the deal went bad. :givebeer:

Yes, sometimes you can find very good deals if you are ready to jump on them immediately. Unfortunately, alot of old timers on there think that siezed David Bradley 360's are worth a mint.

I have sold rebuilt MS-290's (and others) on CL for near new prices.

Yes, many. Shipping saws can be a challenge for some "out of the area" Craigslister's, but I've gotten some nice saws due to my persistence. I also found a Homelite 550 on eBay and asked a few questions about it. The saw sold with a "buy it now" before the seller could get back to me. In the end, Bob, "Madsaw", sold me another 550, and I've been on AS ever since. Great saw, great AS member, and great to know I'm not the only one with CAD! My advice: be careful selecting a saw, give it a try, and I'll bet that nine times out of ten it works out for you. Best of luck, and let us know how it goes. Max.
