can anybody tell me the last year the 272XP was made before going to the 372, my father-in-law has a 272xp and he thinks it is only 6-8 years old, i would say at least 12 years old but i cant tell by the tag.

Anyway, the 272xp is still made in Brazil, but that is a "detuned" version, probably made to compete with the MS380/381 on third wourld markets.


Going back to the original 272xp, made for Europe and NA, it slightly outlasted its first "replacement", the 371xp (due to a lower price) - but was discontinued shortly after the 372xp was out in 1999 - I guess in 2000, but I have no definate info......

I think Troll is right, '99. The 371 was introduced to North America in 12/95 and the 372 was introduced in around 03/99, and I remember timber cutters and logging companies buying up all the last NIB 272s here at that time and putting them in storage.
