I've read how opening the ignition points on a chainsaw a few thousandths should slightly advance the timing, and in turn should make a saw have more high end rpm's, but will advancing the timing with the points make the coil overheat? I would like to try this with a few of my vintage saws, but don't want to ruin the coil, engine, or anything else. Any imput is appreciated!
