Well when reading some of the posts about race chains. I see some mention stoning the chain. I was wonder what kind of stone is used. Here is a pic of a nice little one I found in a old tool and die shop. I have heard on here Nortons are the stones to get too. Could someone explain a little on stoning a chain.

Stoning a chain
1) Get a qt canning jar
2) fill half way with some Mendocina Valley buds about the size of your thumb. NY Deisel or any Holland bud can be substituted in a "pinch".
3) Insert chain and close lid. (No, you wont have to make the "lid" pop.)

Normally performed on weekends.
