If someone has land in pulp country this is the way to go.

Looks like after getting the first stand established, you can expand with cuttings from those trees.

That site is interesting and provided information that i have been looking for. My next question would be, what does a cord of poplar weigh and why are they not getting more than 3.5 cords per acre. Here in Ohio chips are sold by the ton. One place quoted us $16.00 per ton.

My guess is the tight rotation cycle. They are trying to optimize the output over the longterm with the rotational coppice.

Do some more searching on the subject. I've found a lot on Hybrid Polar in the past. My Dad emailed that link to me just recently, so I shared it.
