The wheels on my Log splitter are very cracked and I found a new pair of wheels very cheap ($20 for the pair at Mardens, if you're from Maine, you know about Mardens). Problem is the splitter axle is 3/4" and the wheels are 1". Is there any reason not to get a steel bushing to make them work? New wheels are probably $100 for a air and bushings shouldn't be more than $10 +or-. I assume that 3/4" axles are slightly undersized for clearance so wheel can slip right on. Problem might be finding a bushing with 3/4" ID and slightly under 1" OD. Log splitter wheels are not lug type. Appreciate any advice. Larry

I'm guessing this splitter is not something you would be towing down the highway at 60MPH? If so then I would see no problem with finding some bushings to allow you to used the $20 wheels.
