Love my 241 but I ported it myself. Id pick a 241 for limbing over a 026 or a 261 as ive had all 3. 241 for me by farThen he has $800-$850 tied up in a 40cc saw and it still won't out cut a muffler modded 550xp.

Is 18" picco available?
I have the true 16" cannon supermini in c1 picco mount and the 3005 stihl 18". The cannon is almost as longBars that are called 18" are availiable from Stihl and others in both .325 and 3/8" picco - but they really are just over 16".
True 18"(+) bars are availiable from at least Cannon (Supermini C1 mount).
What do you consider a good 50cc is it a creamscile or big orange.I tried to like the 241. While it's a great little saw, it simply doesn't make near the power of a good 50cc saw and is nearly as heavy. It just doesn't make sense IMHO.
Yes, you need a modded 201T first. $700 to your door. I'm only making $45-$50, and you get a great running saw.
I have a 261 and a 241 I use the 261 for small blocking and the 241 or limbing and in the tree it is real light and precise.
A ported 346XP, MS261, or 550XP.What do you consider a good 50cc is it a creamscile or big orange.
A ported 346XP, MS261, or 550XP.
I wish I could find a 346xp but that is just a wet dream find. guess I am left with MS241 550xp or 261 I am not sold on the last as it has no mtronicA ported 346XP, MS261, or 550XP.
That's your opinion. It's a fantastic saw, whether you care for it or not.Minus the MS261, as it just isn't what a 50cc saw should be!
That's your opinion. .....
Well I have a 346 also and I like it too.You would be better off with a couple of 346 or 550s - but each to his own....

Wow I am really torn now fellers. Not to mention it seems far easier to find a bar chain combo for a 550xp if spike emails me one of his amazing prices i might just end up owning one.
I've never run a 241 so i can't make a direct comparison, i just can't imagine a 241 being $200 better.
The 421 has a mag case, its built like a tank, easy to operate, and easy to work on. Its a little heavier than a 241 ( we're talking ounces here) mine has been bulletproof. It was $329 shipped to my door with a free case.
It does have a CAT that needs to be taken out and they really wake up and cut bigger than 42cc.
Im sure the 241 is also a great saw i just don't see what advantage it has being $200 more with basically all the same specs.
I made a post earlier that compared my idea of good bar lengths for 241/550/562. What I probably could have said is I consider them in 3 different classes and that there is just as big a gap between them.550xp is better bang for the buck... But MS241 is noticeably smaller/ lighter. I don't know what paper specs say, but I was impressed with the size difference in favor of the 241. Swinging either is no problem, i have both of them, just wanted you to know the 241 is smaller/lighter than any other 50cc saw I've used or owned.
I really like your comparison and that is one of the ones that sleighed me to the 550xp was the fact that it is not a huge upgrade from my 192. I really just wish some one had one of the new bars and could post up how they worked that prob would push me over the fence. I feel like if the 241 would run the 18" with no prob that would be my saw of choice. I am a big fan of light as I am heavy already and don't need anymore weight up there with me when I am trying to spider monkey and I am the size of a gorilla. I ain't lying either I weigh in at 250lbs plus a few more when you add a saddle saw and the like. Makes for some real wobble on the top of spindly little tree. Not mention I feel like a 241 would be a dream to use in the bucket. Then the comparison the 550xp is bigger horse and cheaper to boot or so I am told. I think I may have the solution buy them both and the looser hits the trading post.I made a post earlier that compared my idea of good bar lengths for 241/550/562. I know it doesn't add up on dry pho weights, and plenty don't agree.
