I have a factory MS660 which the manuel recommends a 50:1 fuel to oil mixture. I'm currently using the Stihl HP ultra mix at that ratio. Would it be beneficial, engine protection or performance, to mix richer? Also, if I mix richer would I have to adjust my carb and at what ratio? Thanks, Ronnie

We run all saws from a 395xp down to a MS 200T at 40:1 with no problems. With more oil the mix will be richer but the saw will actually be leaner because the mix will contain less fuel and more oil so you're gonna need to turn the H screw CCW to get more fuel. Make sense?

These guys on here have converted me over to 40:1 . Maybe someday ill grow up and go 32:1 :)

After building a chainsaw I run it 30:1, adjusted as KenJax stated, until I get that hiccup when the ring seats, then 40:1 and readjust.
I'm no ologyst. I do like watching guys like Tin Man and Walker.
