LOL, in my ole shack I am da prince. I never have been much of a bargin shopper. I see what I want, look at the price, seems fair, I buy it. If I think its overpriced I won't haggle, I just walk away from it. I've never been one to go haggling. Hell the last car I bought, drove it around the block, brought it back, told the salesman I like it, I'll take it. Same with that 346, I bought that not really even knowing what it cost, didn't know, didn't care, just wanted the saw.
I deal with folks everyday of the week that want to haggle on price, they just aren't happy unless they think they got a break or a deal. I don't mind playing the game with them to a point. I'll give em a break, usually not as much as they want, thats when they get the same choice I use, take it or walk away from it. 99% of the time they buy it.
The best times are when the answer is no. Had a man needing a bar for his saw, a 20incher. I got one off the wall, he see's the price and right away tells me I can get a 20 inch bar from Baileys for 15.00 less. I said ok and put the bar back on the wall. He goes what are you doing. I said aren't you going to get the bar from Baileys. He goes can't you match Baileys price, I said yup but I'm not. He goes whatcha mean, I go it means what I said. He goes well I need that bar, I go you gonna buy it, he goes not at that price. I go guess you don't need it then. He goes well I'll have one from Baileys in about a week. I go yeah but you need a bar today dontcha. Needless to say he waited a week and got his Bailey's bar. Cool beans I say. A non-profit sale is not a sale in my book, its giving it away and we're not in the give away biz...
