PROBABLY PAID TOO MUCH, BUT

I've had two of them, both seemed very underpowered to me. Never really used them much, so I ended up selling them. According to others on the forum, these saws really come alive if you gut the muffler and open up the exhaust. I wish I would've tried a muffler mod on mine. Good luck, hope you like the saw!

Well it is hard to play armchair quarterback and keyboard warrior if you don't list what you paid.

FWIW, looks clean and a whole lot better than a MS362.

Do you have a 60cc saw fetish?

I don't think you did bad. Did it come with the bar and chain, and the case?

IDK I have 4 all together now (2 - 362s). The 362s are loaners but since it seems my s-i-l has one on permanent loan now I decide to get another - it just happened to be a 361. I do like to have multiple copies though: 8 - 82cc MACs and 5 - 123cc MACs.

Yes and Yes. OP seller couldn't locate the owner's manual but I got everything else, including a new "green" chain. The yellow chain on the saw is the original.

I would love to have a nice clean 044, but it wouldn't be a loaner.

Guys, thanks for the opinions on value as I didn't want to take advantage of the seller. As I told him, I paid $400 for a similar condition 362 and $250 for another that was not as clean. I added $50 on this saw because it seems a 361 is more desirable or so it seems on AS.

As I said I didn't want to take advantage. Whether it is a wrench or a saw, if I don't need it I typically pay what it is worth to me. The seller thought it was worth more. I thought I was being generous, but I don't know what it is worth in the market place so I threw it on here for comments (and to show it off to those interested). Ron

Not trying to keep it a secret. $450. I have an 036Pro and a MS362 both bone stock as well. Ron
Nothing wrong with a stock saw. According to one professional tree service specialist, is that his all his saws are stock. Says; " they last longer ". And from the pics of his business, and its growth over the years, he just might be on the right track.

EDIT: IGNORE THIS POST I was looking at it and the ebay pictures wrong. I take it there are two different OEM mufflers for this saw - one with an upper shrouded port and one without - correct? This one does not have the upper. Ron

Been there fo sure.
I've overpaid for a few saws. Or bought saws that needed worked on and put more money into them than they'll ever be worth. Oh well. I do it for fun, not to make money...

Been there fo sure. Just finished up a pawn shop 066. Paid $320 for it. Ran good be real rough looking. I always pull the jug on newly accuired saws, and noticed it had a AM top end on it with only 150psi. I decided to try a mako kit on it. Ended up doing the bottom end, paint (don't ever try to strip stihl paint!) DP muffler, and a lot of other stuff. Got a lot more in it than I could get for it I guess. I'll just cut wood with it.
