Saw Echo cs680 bought powerhead only.

looking for b/c to make quick work on clean doug fir.
thinking 24" 81 link Oregon powermatch bar and Oregon 72lgx chain.

Is this the best choice?
I appreciate any other suggestions.

the 24'' bar sounds good i dont know much about chains i have a 670 with a 20'' bar

i have a 24 inch bar on my 680 and i have run full comp and semi-skip chains. i would strongly recommend semi-skip over the full comp. it really helps these echos keep their chain speed up on larger rounds. but im cuttin hardwood so you may find something that works better. either way they are a bit underpowered for their weight but honestly i love the balance of the saw and the rubber coated handles!

I have a grey cs-670 and I use a 20" bar and Oregon 72LGX .050ga. chain full comp. I never have problems bogging the motor , just don't dog in and yank the handle like a maniac.

I really like this saw, tough and easy to run, quality is better than the newest echos (cs-600 example). Manual oiler and aluminum fuel tank.
