Anyone know if the Echo cs500 is running a cat muff, if so likely a LOT of improvement without it. Steve

Got my 500 today and it is california legal so I'm assuming a cat is in place. I was wondering if you knew if oregon does indeed make all the bar and chains for Echo. I received my saw with an Oregon bar and chain that was 3/8 pitch and the manual says to use a .325 pitch chain just wondering if I will be alright? The bar cover on the 261 is also plastic by the way and on the 500 there is metal bracing. So I don't know if the 261 is worth 200 more dollars I guess that is something only time and opinion will decide.
