I was given a 100-200 year old tree from the Powhatan Courthouse area near Richmond and I am trying to find a Sawyer to mke lumber out of it. The tree is a Chestnut (I think) that feel during renovations near the Courthouse. It is currently in 8'-12' lengths all with diameter's between 12" and 24" and there are approximately 20 timbers total.

I think that this tree has some significant value as the previous owner of the property had it brought to Chesterfield for drying and for awaiting milling. I would love to get it cut into usable lumber.

Is there a good location to find Sawyers on the web and specifically in Richmond, VA?

Thanks!
Jason

I don't know this guy or his work, but if his equipment reflects his operation, he looks like he knows what he's doing.

As to where to find other sawyers, I see WW has already steered you to their "Find-a-sawyer" but here is the link anyway.

There is another site as well but it appears this site and that don't get along as it blocks my attempt to link it!

You can also call Wood-Mizer and ask them who is for hire in your area. I called and I got a list of more than 5 guys near to me.
