I did my first mufler mod today on that 268 I bought for $50 a few weeks ago. The saw is lacking in the compression department. I ordered a new 272xp kit for it. I welded in a pipe, blasted it all and stove painted it. I should have my kit this week. I'm planning on deleting the base gasket also. Possibly porting the cylinder.

Speaking of 30-30's I traded a Marlin 60 22 with a scope, even up for this Marlin 30-30,

a few days ago. It has a little surface rust, but it shoots/functions just fine.

I had one identical to that in 35 Remington. Now it is a custom 358 Winchester.

So, since we’re on that topic…

Anyone else notice that wasn’t the only train to de-rail

I’m not a deep conspiracist like my pal at work

But I am ashamed of our infrastructure….

How can we spend millions upon millions helping other countries and let this once great nation deteriorate

Saddens me for my children’s future

But what I’d really like to find is a Ruger No1 in 30-30. I’d love to load up some pointed pretty’s for it!
That's on my most wanted list too....but man, they're rare as hens teeth.

The 30-30 has more potential than the guns it's usually chambered in can withstand, but that would all change with a No1.

Except 30-30 brass isn't up to high pressures.

If you want to shoot pointed bullets, ANY 30-30 can be fired single shot!

President's Day, and my up and coming timber man partner helped me haul a couple loads of split out of the woods and to my stacks. :

Yea - that's a mile wide grin on his face

Love the "pedal extender"
Thinking I'll be doing that soon myself!
