I have repaired the pipe
I went for a short drive - looks funny on wet grass (raining here, dry road needed)

I got a better radio - this one has telemetry
gives me on the handset screen
- Engine temp
- Engine RPM
- RX batt voltage (on board battery condition)

Tell me, did I do alright getting this RPM from the ol saw?
11340RPM
on 98 ROL Fuel & boring old stihl oil 25:1.

Well, I have managed to finish what I'm doing here.

RPM = 17,280

That means, with my current gearing, I will be doing 114.75km/h (71.72mph) straight away.
If I change the 20T sproket for a 17T, I will be doing 135km/h (84.375mph)
there are other ratios to go faster, but I think it's time to learn how to drive this sucker.
Here's some video (kinda like a catch-up) to where I am now.

Cheers,

Can't wait to see it burning down the track. Keep posting vids :greenchainsaw:

Hi Fellas,
Been a LOOOONG time.
Well, I've officially hung up the RC boots.
The car ended up weighing in at 35 kg, and I managed to get 17,250RPM out of the ol' Poulan 'saw engine. Not bad, eh!

This gives me 114.75 km/h. If I changed the 20T sprocket to a 17 T sprocket = 135 km/h
All worked out for 17,000 RPM

Even with the heavy vehicle weight, the car is scary powerful and quick.
So I ended up with something better than I dreamed of.
Cheers for all the kind words...this ol' girl has been put on the shelf for another day, when I can turn my full attention to making things better.

In the meantime, I got side-tracked by a 1:1 scale vehicle....

Hello everybody,
I took away my vids fro YouTube a while ago. sorry ' bout that, the ads were annoying me. Have since found adblocker, so I put a few up again.
So here's some links to a few things I was up to back then.
PS the chainsaw motor is revving so hard, I think it's sucking in air through the crank seals... it leans out a WOT and dies. The rail is on the shelf for another day when my brain can soak in so much info, I just may get on top of it. Otherwise, a forestry saw motor will go in. Woo-hoo.

Cheers Muddy.

PPS.. the Dodge Hot Rod is coming along well too. Had some engineer/regulatory loop holes to jump through, but I am allowed to do the mods I wanted.
