Need to replace the oil pump on my 024, and would like to increase the oil output onto the bar... could I drop an oil pump from an 026 PRO in there without changing a bunch of other parts or.... is there a HO control bolt and piston set up available for the smaller stihls?

Great post Andy on the 066 upgrade, especially on the clutch removal.

Unless it's a very late model 024 or 024 super, the answer is no... The best way to determine this is look at the bottom of the saw. If it had the oil hole, then there is a very good chance you can upgrade it to the pro pump, but there are a bunch of parts - new clutch drum etc...

The easiest way to upgrade it is to put in a pump from a non-adjustable 026. The 026 1121-650-3202 pump is .65mm stroke (off-what plastic body); the 24 pump is .5mm stroke (black plastic body).

Here's the tricky part... the older 024 has the same pump as the 026; a large round magnesium pump, and that already had a .65mm stroke. No one has complained abut he oil output of an 026 fixed pump (usually the complaint is the opposite!), so maybe you have another problem?
