My brother spends time at flee markets and swap meets. He's been on the hunt looking for saws for me to build.
He found this one last friday, a 1983 266se. Guy said it doesn't run, ended up scooping it for $45.
For that price I didn't look at it too hard. Saw was filthy but was more or less all there.
Heres some pictures
Under all the dirt and crap is what was a nice clean saw.
I've been kicking myself for 2 years cause I missed a nice 266 at a dealership and wanted the chance to get another.
I looked at a picture of the super clean 266 I looked at 2 years ago at a dealership to see what a mint one looks like.
Funny story, that 266 and this one are the same saw, the pictures confirmed!!
Its amazing to me the damage and "mods" the guy who had it did over just 2 years.
Oh and he said it doesn't run so thats why I could have it so cheap.
Took me 5 mins to get it running, the guy had both jets almost closed!
Piston is scored but she runs really really well.
Im going to rebuild this one, figure it was meant to be!
