I have a Tulip tree, its about 26" DBH and im thinking of cutting it for firewood? Is this worthwhile?

It'll burn, it might take awhile to dry but it will burn, similar to poplar, fast clean and hot. It's better than really crappy woods like willow, but if you can get some better hardwoods go for them instead.

What it would be good for is cutting into 8 by 8 cants to run hotsaws in.You can always burn the cookies later,no splitting required.:)

Burns fast when seasoned I always have a little in my pile I save it for spring when I just want a quick fire to take the chill out of the house in the morning

It's beautiful and very useful lumber and not very good firewood. Get it milled if you can. Make wide boards for bookcases, etc.
