In my book, the 046 delivers the meat. The top handle saw delivers the branches needed to get to the meat.

Yeah kinda torn somebody wants to trade a clean 200t for my clean 046. I do need a good top handle just not wanting to get rid of my 046... hard decision

Good point. The last 200T I worked on and ended up salvaging for parts somehow managed to fall out of the back of the owner's truck at 60 MPH. Nothing was left that I could save except machine screws.

I'd also like to see a Pic of that Stihl 046. I restored and rebuilt one of these a few years back and it runs today. They are tough puppies and deliver about 6 Hp. Mine can still enjoy pulling a 32" bar and chain.

Jmo, I wouldnt unless you really never use or intend to use the 046 again. Old saws like that are too hard to get in good running shape. Again jmo.

here is my first year 046.. I still got it, I worked something out with the feller I’m gonna build a 044 and trade him, the 200t was in decent condition nothing nice to look at but it ran like hell.

Those oh-fourty saws are real nice IMO. I wouldn't do it.
