044 is a fantastic saw. Best all around size stihl(firewood saw) if you ask me. Just enough pull for a 28" and will gladly run anything smaller.
ya done good even if it was by accident. Pricewise I'll pay $200 for a 044 sight unseen. $300 for a decent shape-runner and $400 for a cherry. So you did ok.
