Yep. At least 75% of the stuff really isn't needed. Just about when I'm ready to start tossing whole boxes in the nearest dumpster, I find something that I've been searching high and low for....:bang:

Off to the shop to battle that stupid valve pin in a few minutes...

Lol but i have 4 ways of tight 1=1/4 drive 2=3/8 drive 3=1/2 drive and 4= torque wrench. Im so confused lol

33 Newton Meters! I imagine 3/8, who would use other sizes on that.

PS: owner of the saw just called me LOL; the saw hasn't been ran in 5 YEARS it's been seating in the corner of his shop under some tires he didn't even know he still had the saw

Two Walbro carbs (011 and 026) and a Zama (hl75 hedge trimmer). All 3 are ripe for new diaphragms.
Also several lonely chains looking for love from the sharpener.
And some tools I am too lazy to put away when I'm done.

Another 046 for a bearing job. Bottom end is done. Just need to reassemble it. Thanks to trx250r180 and Jacob J., I got the rest of the parts I needed off the swap meet thread.

Got the damn DSP valve pin out using a slide hammer. Nothing else would grip it enough to move it. Couldn't get to it with the dremel to slot it. Replacement DSP valve still leaks a tad. May have to lap it in. Saw now fires on a prime. It's waiting on a carb kit and a fuel line now.

You can see the 'good' DSP valve pin has the thin steel spring seat on it. The pin pictured is the 'wrong' one for this saw, but I was able to get another 'correct' pin from another parts Super 2-10A that I have. The busted old DSP valve pin is also badly corroded. It put up quite a fight. Finally was able to grab it with the vice grips and then pull the vice grips (and the pin) with the little two pound slide hammer.

Also sorted out this Poulan 3400 tosay. Rebuilt the carb. Cleaned things out. Modified some early Homelite XL-12 bar plates for it, and did a 'quickie' muffler mod. Runs strong. Installed a "rare in the US" chainbrake clutch cover that came to me from a good friend in the land of Oz.

Thats handy info. I'd never think of checking for that lil' pin. Makes me wonder how many of "grandpa's old saw"s have been scrapped because it didn't have any comp.

That 3400 is cool. I like that clutch cover.:msp_thumbup:
