MS stands for Moto Sierra, which is spanish for chainsaw. This prefix is attached to all models manufactured in mexico.

It has been a bit back and forth between Extra Power and Extra Performance - but I believe it originally was Extra Power.

I am Swedish - I cannot find any explanation for "XP" after some
Googling other than that it means professional saw with no extras
(such as e.g., handle heat etc) ... . Previously they where called
SG instead, whatever that means or doesn't mean ... .

Yep, and MS stands for Most Suction, as Stihl currently makes a vacuum, Husqvarna doesn't. BTW, XP is not an acronym...and it is Swedish, not sweedish.:msp_wink:
