+1. Mine's still a work saw as well. It is more usable than a stock saw. It idles better, has better throttle response, and can still work all day long.

As I see it, a larger carb is the main thing a muffler modded 026/260 needs - but how about the air filter - that one look like a "choke point" as well?????

It is, hence using the green weenie. That stock filter can be opened up, but enough needed for the gain and it loses it's filtering ability.

I've read the 194s can flow just as much fuel needed, just don't know how to do it.

Removing the flocked filter from my 260 lets it turn something like another 800 RPMs. I'm talking about when properly tuned before and after removing.

I have never seen a flocked filter on any saw over here - it is all about summer or winter type mesh ones (personally I don't use the more open winter ones, even in the winter).

Putting a flocked filter on a 260/026/240/024 probably kills any chance they will perform well - but I haven't tried.......:popcorn::givebeer:

My 066 came with the wire screen filter. The wire mesh filters let fine particles into the carb/cylinder. I won't run them on my saws.

You might get a little more HP with them, until the saw starts to wear out from a diet of dirt.

But some people enjoy rebuilding their saws or have enough $$$ to toss them for a new one...........
