Well I got bored so I took the sprocket off the 770 and put it on the C9, also put on the 28" hard nose bar and chain and put it in some wood. After the video I did some more tuning on the carb and it is not running quite as rich. I thought it might be stronger than the 770 but I was wrong the 770 has it beat. Not to shabby for a junk pile saw, all I did was replace the gas and spark plug, I haven't even cleaned it up yet.

if it sounds as good as this one after
you tuned it you did ok. :D

Just bought my first Homelite

Just bought my first Homelite, a C-91.
Mike Acres site says its 85.5cc.
It was covered in spider webs and by the stench that came out of the gas tank no tellin how long its been sittin but some fresh mix and about the 8th or 9th pull she fired right up. I put the file to the chain and went to make a few cuts. Holy this thing has some grunt.
She needs a couple miner things but for the the most part is nice saw.
Now just to decide wether to find room in the shop for her or sell her.

I also say keep it, I had a homelite c-7 that was in great shape and sold it, been regretting ever since but I did get a hold of a c9 and this one will stay in the collection.

Sweet!!!:cool2:

You do realize that I must confiscate those saws however. You have seriously overloaded those shelves with shear awesomeness......:yoyo:

 Thanks Aaron! Ill safe keep the saws for now till you make it out here to get them! Take your time:hmm3grin2orange:

Careful, as he has more than one target in this area, One thing I'd like to point out is that longbar is closer to Dike, IA than I am, and I can meet Aaron somewheres away from my saws.
If he comes with a certain C-5, however, he and you are more than welcome here.

I think I got these from your neck of the state. Up by Northfield. You live somewhere over there dont you?

You guys are coming up with some nice finds.
The C91's are worthy of keeping in my book.

Keep up the good work.
I haven't had much luck in the Homelite department
lately. Hopefully i will find another to add to
the collection soon.

Sounds like a plan. Now I just have to work out how I'm gonna get a couple hunnert gallons of diesel fuel for about $.10/gal...:jester:

Yep. That whole area of yours is a grand location for a 'saw tour'. If I exert the effort to make it out to that corner of the country,
then both Dike, Ia and your 'base of opperations' are on the list (along with the clearing of Longbar's shelves).:D

I haven't even touched that C-5 since we talked. The monsoons we've been getting here (and the resulting grass/weed growth) have kept me busy. I am moving all my saws and saw related stuff to other shelves this weekend, so I'll be able to photograph 'em and do some serious thinking. You may well end up with that 'certain C-5' yet my friend.

Why are you pilfering saws in my back yard?

I gots to find a job.

That sucks Jeff. You have a poachin' problem!!!

Is 9 homelites enough, or do I need more?

Sounds like you still did well Don. Those E-Z series saws area great little runners, and the freebee breakers and spinner will come in handy.

Sorry, but I had to edit your posts for my quotes. We knew what you meant..........but I just couldn't help myself...
