Use Echo, Dolmar, or Homelite black fuel line (or impulse line) for the impulse. Don't use the transparent Tygon type vinyl line. It's fine for fuel and oil, but not good for impulse applications.

Read up in the 35/350/360 section of this Service Manual:

Use your UT# here to find your exact IPL:

http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Homelite-Parts-Manuals-For-Chain-Saws/

Thanks! Read up some in the manual, pics are much clearer than any IPL I can find.

Also, my UT# has more digits than any of those listed. Any significance to that?

Hi Clarkbug,

I've just done the same thing with my 35SL. I got everything together from Chainsawr in one package, worked out well. Still haven't got mine running right but that is due to lack of time on my part. Good luck with yours. Good saw by all accounts.

Regards,

I looked through what chainsawr had, but struck out when I needed certain parts. Most of mine are coming from the bay, from a million different sellers.

I'll post some pics when I can get her all back together!

When I ordered my parts for the 35 (360) from Chainsawr, it was sold as a complete 360 refresh package. It even included a new spark plug! Sorry you could find the same thing as it saved a lot of postage from many different sellers.

Good luck with yours,

International Harvester red in the tractor and implement paint is a close match. The Valspar is great and the ACE hardware brand is fine also. They both take a looooooooooooooooooooooog time to dry.

I've never found anything to touch up a saw with because of the fading, I guess you could just paint the whole saw. I painted a clutch cover and a starter assy. and it took three days to dry and they didn't come close to matching. I didn't use the International red though, just some red enamel I had. I guess I can go back and paint the rest of the saw...

I made some homelite to stihl bar adapters.

These will fit 410 Sxl xl 925 as well.

Super XL

Having a few days with not much to do I put together a Homelite XL12 with a few Super XL parts thrown in, like a piston and cylinder, just from parts I had laying around the garage. I didn't have a gasket for the base of the cylinder but I had the upper half where the reed valve is so I sealed the cylinder with Moto Seal. Man does that thing have compression. I checked it and it shows around 175. I cut a small amount of wood with it and it seems to pull pretty good. I may throw a paint job on it because it's not too pretty...

Sweet! You going to produce those for sale as well? I'll be down for at least one. A 14mm version for adapting the big stihl mount bars onto the large frame Homelites would be great too, as would a 5/16" stud 12mm version for the earlier XL series Homelites (and Poulans). I'd go for at least one of each of those too. Great work once again!

These are 12mm (actually 12.1-12.3mm depending on where you get your info) small stihl mount........as used on the 024 through 660.

The 14mm big stihl mount is on the 880 (only current stihl that uses this mount) as well as many older stihl saws (S-10, 08, 050, 051, 075, 076, 070/090, 084, 088. A similar mount was used on the big Dolmars. These bars have a broader tail profile that more closely matches the old large frame Homelite and McCulloch bars.

There's also a 'mini' stihl mount. 8mm slot. Used on the tophandles, the 009-012, and 021-250 'consumer' saws.

Your knowledge continues to astound me......

Ok, I thought these spacers were for the large mount the whole time. I didn't realize they were for the smaller size.

I would be interested in one of the adaptors also for the 14mm, if they ever exist...

I can get them whipped up for you guys. I know you say the slot is 14 millimeters but if you could put a pair calipers on an actual slot so that we don't have clearance problems that'd be great. I don't have any other Poulan the only thing I have that's close is a 3400 to measure to make poulan adapter. Yes this will be for sale once I get them in production at work. This was just a prototype see how many saws it would actually fit since I measured a super 650 to make it.

Good timing since there is a nice NOS 36" Windsor speed tip on the bay right now in large Stihl mount for $47 shipped.....

Opps! My mistake, my parts kit came from Randy's chainsaw parts. Sorry Randy!

I don't have any Stihl branded 14mm bars but I do have 3 bars in that mount. I measured them with a caliper checking from one end to the other checking for variance.

Windsor 20" - New w/ paint in bar slot
0.550in (13.97mm)
0.555in (14.10mm) - the slot had a slight taper from one end to the other, might be variation in paint thickness.

Carlton 33" - New w/ clearcoat in bar slot
0.550in (13.97mm)

Carlton 36" - Lightly used with the clearcoat worn off in the bar slot.
0.555in (14.10mm)
