Nice work parris!!!!
And thanks for the pics!
I would hate to top a tree that diameter! I usually like a bit more gerth, guess thats why I have a chest that is similar to a kick boxers shin! LOL!!
I don't care what any one says, limbing go up is EASY!
But when you get to the topping, well BRASS NU#$ ARE NEEDED!
CUT AND RIDE!!!!
I still have a bruise from the first top I took out! LOL!!!

And we can all appreciate a good ground man!!!!

Thanks Teddy. I remember the first top I ever took, my knees were a little wobbly.

I love the easy jobs, but gotta watch em cause they will jump out and ruin yer day. I got two about like that tomorrow except there is azaillia bushes all underneath going to speed line most of the limbs and then work wood with bucket, may get some photos!

Yes, always must pay great attention when doing this type of work.

Get some pics!! We always like those.

I don't climb as much as I did before, now that the day job of pole climbing is a bit better!!!!

But I work as a climbing gypsy for a couple tree services in the summer when they are busy, HARD TO PASS ON THE CASH!!!!

Parris, since this thread is yours, Nice pictures and nice work. You're a genius !

But there is something I do not understand. Climbing a tree and cut it down to the ground slice by slice seems to be lots of fun, but it would not be easier to tie the tree to the truck, ask someone to drive the truck while you cut the tree at the base and fell the tree exactly to the desired direction? :monkey: (I think I do not remember seeing electrical or phone lines or other obstacles in the area you cut the tree, right?)

All you other climbers, nice pictures and videos.

I searched for jobs in that area none from what I seen. I wonder what a tree like the one in the video would be done for. I bet it would be expensive and should be, serious stuff there, I would enjoy that work. I will bet that tree is easily 8k no clean up lmfao:cheers:

The company is from Victoria and that tree was in Tassie, so he must have a good reputation.

Rope, the best way would be to approach the companies from both states directly.

Did a good job Will.

I will keep that in mind I was thinking of just saying the heck with it all and climbing out there.
Yes I would be slow but I am certain those trees pay well so land ten gigs should make coin even as someone's climber

You don't have to get too far into the video to imagine the cost. The government paid for that one going by the walkway.
I would like to know how far above the ground the walkway is as there are tree tops just reaching it. Day 3 and the trunk is pretty thick even at that elevation.
Even with the logging here most jobs are word of mouth and cold calling.
Those Mountain Ash are pretty wide spread.

Some small Mountain Ash.

The ony clear way was to go straight across the road, which I did not want to do.
