I junked the safety chain soon after the pics. It also came with a cool bar nose guard, so cool i threw it over the fence lmao.

Should do some cutting with it tomorrow.

Nice saw, I would have tried out a CS500p also , it's lighter cost close to the same , if it has as much power it would be the way to go. Steve

Ya not to much info on the 530s on the net. I really loved my 370 and this one is just like it except bigger :)

Looks like a major mistake - but maybe not as bad as the brand name usually indicates.

Despite they claim it is a pro saw, it still has a clamshell style engine....:msp_wink:

C'mon troll. Can't the guy just be excited about his new saw? I don't understand why you always feel compelled to do this. Maybe that is the way all Norweigans are? Most of us around here are happy for a guy with a new saw, regardless of the sticker on the side. You should try it. Genuine happiness for the good fortune of others. It may brighten your own day sometime.

Do you go and tell the guy with a new Cadillac that he should have bought a Bentley?

I bought my CS530 almost 4 years ago, ive cut a lot of wood with it. Never fails to start and after its warm, a half yank is all it takes. It is now a discontinued item, superseded is a better term probably. Mine wasnt as lean from the dealer as some declare.

How many huskys are pro saws and clamshells? How about all the old clamshells. Would rather have a nice clamshells than a crappy split like we have been seeing lately. Oh yeah OHC is a new technology too...wait it was the first kind of valvetrain. Some will just never learn. Don't get angry echo is competting at 2/3 the price. Call husky and stihl and complain to them not us

Atleast congratulate him on a nice new saw!

Edit: BTW I wouldn't be suprised to see more pro clamshells soon with the next wave of emissions and the way manufacturing costs are going(look what that did to stihl's cylinders)

Zero saws that are marketed as pro saws are clamshells designs, except Echo ones - as far as I know.

Also, I was told they come with pathetically small carbs, that makes it impossible to make much power....

And it's a well built clamshell with good power and excellent porting, light wieght and good handling what's wrong with a clamshell. I'd be willing to bet we'll see more and more in the future. Steve

Funny you say that dealer started itup and let it idle and then made sure it 4 stroked. I put it in the back of my truck for thr 45 min drive home. When i got home i replaced the oiler on my ms250 which took about 20mins. I went to the echo yanked it hardly and it sat there and idled perfectly! I wonder why they discontinued it?

PLENTY pro saws of days past were clam shells (and you know that). I dont see what the hangup on the case design is? Looks like a fine saw to me.

chances are from the little tidbits i've heard from echo they are going to start a new design in the coming years. they are working on getting the performance of the stihl/jusky pro saws with the echo durability in the cheapest to produce...which means cheapest to sell to the customer. and if they do...well durability and performance for less cost? no crank case halves to leak or split?(which means easier warranty for the manufacturer) Less parts for a rebuild to buy? Less weight?...i really cant see why this is anything but good. yeah you have to take off the oiler and flywheel to get it out and the cyl off. boohoo your 3/4 way there with the bolt on cyls. change is a coming fellas

Watch Masterminds vid of a CS520 he ported if you think they don't make power with that carb. Steve
